Patchwork and Vintage rugs are the new modern trend of rugs.
Their raw material is pieces of old carpets that are recycled through new intense dye (over dyed) and then sewn tightly together.
There are many varieties of Patchwork rugs on the market, mainly from Pakistan, Turkey and India.

The difference lies in the heavier-fixed pieces and in the very strong sewing of them with machines, which essentially eliminates the risk of tearing in the very sensitive parts of the coupling, thus it is not required to have substrates, linings or latex on the back side.
Another important fact is that these Persian rugs are not mass-produced but there is only a small quantity available worldwide.
